[Webinar] Healthy Relationships As We Grow Older
This presentation is designed for service providers working with older adults, particularly those from ethnocultural communities. It will explore the concept of healthy relationships as a foundation for well-being in later life while addressing the challenges posed by unhealthy dynamics, including older adult mistreatment. The session will focus on culturally sensitive approaches to identifying and addressing mistreatment, recognizing the strengths and unique experiences of diverse older adults. Participants will gain insights into the impact of cultural values, family roles, and societal expectations on relationship dynamics and mistreatment.
Through discussion, and practical strategies, the presentation will equip service providers with tools to foster respectful, compassionate support while promoting the safety, dignity, and empowerment of older adults. Emphasis will be placed on a strength-based approach, cultural humility, and strategies for meaningful engagement with ethnocultural communities.
