The Ballad of Georges Boivin

event and training image

Lunchbox Theatre is excited to let you know about our last performance of the season, The Ballad of Georges Boivin, running from April 16 - May 5, 2024.

This heart-warming story is a one-person show starring Calgary theatre local legend Duval Lang that asks the audience to question myths about aging.

The Ballad of Georges Boivin follows Georges Boivin, a 77-year-old man who decides to “give the dice a roll” following his wife's death. Understanding that life must continue, even after a great loss, Georges and three friends go on a road trip across Canada to find his first love.

The play, originally written in French by award-winning Québec playwright Martin Bellemare and translated by Jack Paterson with Johanna Nutter, asks the question, is there life after seventy?

Don’t miss the rare opportunity to see Duval Lang as he expertly embodies Georges Boivin, his three friends, and all the other characters they encounter along the journey in this one-person performance. Tickets are on sale now, range in price from $25-$35 per performance, and can be purchased at LunchboxTheatre.com. Student and senior rates are available. Groups of 10 or more are eligible for a discount by calling the box office at 403-221-3708.
