(Recorded Event) Immigrant Senior Sector Connections April Partner’s Meeting - loneliness and isolation in older immigrant adults
Theme:
In this Partner’s meeting, we will be discussing loneliness and isolation in older immigrant adults. Many older immigrant adults spend most of their time at home, and because of various barriers, they don’t have the same connections outside of the home. Even if they are living in a situation with family, they can be very isolated and lonely within a busy house. We will be sharing our experiences with immigrant seniors, what we are seeing, and how their isolation and loneliness differ from non-immigrant older Albertans.
Our Immigrant Senior Sector Connections leadership team will share some of their experiences working with lonely and isolated older adults. This will also be an open convo circle, community of practice style session where folks can come and share what they are seeing, what they have done, and how they have adapted.
