Establishing the Case for Prioritization of Life-course Immunization

Vaccination is a key action in fostering healthy ageing and preserving functional ability throughout the life-course. Several vaccines are recommended specifically for older adults and those with chronic conditions who are most at-risk for serious complications from infection. Yet, despite clear evidence in support of adult immunization, the approach is not implemented as is illustrated through National Immunization Programs (NIP) that are largely pediatric focused. There is an urgent call to prioritize adult vaccination through policies to support healthy ageing.

To create a forum for deliberations to transform knowledge into policy action, the International Federation on Ageing (IFA) is convening a two-part webinar series entitled Advancing equity in adult immunization.
