Caregivers Alberta Work & Care Program - Lunch N Learn

event and training image

Did you know that approximately one in four Albertans provide care to family members or friends while being employed?

Whether supporting a loved one with a disability, serious illness or age-related issues, caregivers are a vital pillar of support for our families, social and healthcare systems. Caregivers are often pulled in multiple directions all at one time, especially at home and at work.

Caregivers Alberta’s new Work & Care program was designed to support employers and employees with caregiving responsibilities to address caregiving as a current and vital workplace issue. This Lunch 'n Learn will introduce attendees to the evidence-based program and share concrete steps they can take in cultivating a more caregiver-friendly workplace.

In this session you will:

  • Learn about our new ‘Work & Care’ program designed to support employers and employees in cultivating caregiver-friendly workplaces
  • Learn about the costs and consequences to employers and employees who are balancing work and care and why caregiving is a current and vital workplace issue
  • Discover the different “Whys?” when it comes to employers’ and organizations’ interest in supporting employed caregivers
  • Reflect on your own workplace and consider what steps you can take to better support caregivers at work (including engaging with our ‘Work & Care’ learning modules)

Whether you are a caregiver yourself, employer, HR professional or simply want to learn more about how to foster a more caregiver-friendly workplace, we encourage you to attend this free session.
