Canadian Malnutrition Awareness Week 2023

event and training image

Malnutrition in adults and seniors that have been hospitalized is a serious health issue that needs to be addressed. In Canada, it has been reported that up to 1 in 2 patients admitted to hospital are malnourished.  After being discharged from hospital, it has been found that one in four adult patients lose weight, and one in three adults aged >65 years living in the community are at nutrition risk.

Canadian Malnutrition Awareness Week™ (CMAW) is an educational and promotional campaign presented by the Canadian Malnutrition Task Force (CMTF), the national voice for the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition across Canada, https://nutritioncareincanada.ca/.

CMAW 2023 “Stronger Together” runs from October 2-6, 2023 and themed webinars available on September 28 and from October 2-6 are open for registration. Learn from nutrition experts, researchers, and health care professionals on how to address malnutrition across various settings.
