Their mission at LGBT End-of-Life Conversations is to foster effective communication, create community, and facilitate care for LGBT persons at the end-of-life. They aim to raise awareness about the unique challenges this population faces as they age and approach end-of-life. Beyond education, they strive to provide LGBT individuals and their service providers with practical tools to empower them in their end-of-life planning. One such tool is The British Columbia LGBT End-of-Life Resource Inventory, which offers an overview of available supports—encompassing health, housing, psychological and social support, spiritual care, and more—within the province. Additionally, they recommend exploring a selection of Canadian and International publications produced by their team. With ongoing discussions about the essence of community, LGBT End-of-Life Conversations believes that at its core, community involves sharing end-of-life concerns and issues among peers while fostering positive support and interaction.
