Understanding Your Utility Bill

Even if you have automatic withdrawals or e-bills, it is always a good idea to check your bill on a regular basis. If you sign a contract with a competitive retailer for electricity and natural gas, you'll receive a single administration fee each month as determined by the contract accepted.
Visit ucahelps.alberta.ca/understanding-your-bill for more information regarding specific charges on your utility bill.
The Utilities Consumer Advocate (UCA) is committed to helping Albertans with their utility questions, concerns and issues.
The UCA’s Mediation Team can help you understand your bill, review terms and conditions of contracts, compare utility rates, and resolve issues with your utility provider.
Call the UCA at 310-4UCA (4822) or 1-888-644-6609 (outside Alberta) during business hours or email ucahelps@gov.ab.ca. The UCA’s services are completely free, and interpreter services are available in over 240 languages.
