resource image

This exploratory qualitative study examines the availability and accessibility of dementia diagnosis tools and services for Indigenous, racially minoritized and people with socio-linguistic barriers in Calgary and Edmonton.

To understand the range of services that are available and the barriers that exist for those with socio-linguistic obstacles, we are speaking with geriatricians, family doctors, and healthcare and social service providers in Calgary and Edmonton about their experiences diagnosing and/or supporting these groups and their care partners. This study has been approved by the Human Research and Ethics Board (HREB) of Mount Royal University.

The study is led by Dr. Irene Shankar and Dr. Celeste Pang. For more information or to express interest in participating please email Dr. Celeste Pang at ncpang@mtroyal.ca
