As the COVID-19 situation continues to unfold, Calgary Seniors has modified and adapted its current Seniors Social Support Programs to offer a fast, effective volunteer delivered set of services that will help address some of the most pressing concerns.
We will continue to take direction from Alberta Health Services. Calgary Seniors is committed to the safety and health of our seniors, volunteers and staff. Risk management strategies are in place to protect people, and will be evolving along with the response plan.
The following changes have been implemented to help seniors get what they need when they need it:
We have reduced our program eligibility criteria, specifically removing income as a qualifier, so that we are able to help a more diverse range of seniors during the COVID-19 outbreak
We have condensed the programs we are offering to make access simpler and response time faster
We have modified the senior client registration process to make it quick and easy
We have created a fast track for volunteers which will enable us to organize more people to help more seniors as fast and safely as possible
