[Resource] Neighbourhood Toolkit - Ideas, strategies and resources to strengthen seniors’ social connection in neighbourhoods

resource image

This toolkit brings together ideas, strategies and resources to strengthen social connections among seniors and others in their neighbourhoods. It will be useful to local community interest groups including neighbourhood associations, seniors’ organizations, community services, faith-based groups, and to citizen groups and individuals. Developed under the Nanaimo Seniors Connect project, with a focus to reduce social isolation in seniors, this toolkit includes real examples successfully delivered in Nanaimo neighbourhoods as a part of this project, as well as best practices from other parts of Canada and abroad. Examples and strategies are drawn from the experience of groups working in neighbourhoods to increase seniors’ social inclusion.
