On Nov. 9, 2021, the CORE Elder Abuse Group hosted a session that explored culturally diverse approaches to engaging and working with older adults who may be experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, elder abuse. The session included presenters, new resources, and information on existing supports. Presenters shared their emerging best practices in supporting immigrant seniors and culturally diverse older adults. Participants learned about ‘Where to Turn’ for support and resources that can enhance their work with diverse older adults.
Feel free to connect with our guest speaker (more information will be updated soon):
During the session, the Alberta Elder Abuse Awareness Council was happy to share their new Staying Safe: A Resource for Older Adults Living in Alberta which can be accessed HERE.
To stay in the loop on future learning opportunities, events and the sharing of resources, we encourage you to become a CORE member and join the Elder Abuse Group!
