[Recording] The Shed Effect - International Men's Day 2025 Webinar

resource image

This special International Men’s Day event brings together leaders, researchers, partners, and Shedders from across Canada to explore The Shed Effect — how Men’s Sheds reduce social isolation, strengthen wellbeing, and ignite grassroots volunteerism that strengthens communities coast to coast.

Men’s Sheds are community-based spaces where older men gather to connect, share skills, build friendships, and contribute to their communities. With more than 170 Sheds in Canada — and growing — the movement is proving the power of connection, purpose, and belonging in healthy aging.

In this webinar:

• Greetings & Opening – Men’s Sheds Canada

• Keynote Address – Dr. Megan Conway, President & CEO, Volunteer Canada

• Panel Discussion – Leaders in aging, community development, and healthy aging

• Research Presentation – Dr. Raza M. Mirza shares new data on the measurable social value of Men’s Sheds

• Shedders’ Stories & Video Showcase – Real experiences from across Canada

This event celebrates older men as community assets— mentors, builders, volunteers, neighbours, and contributors. That is The Shed Effect.
