[Recorded Webinar] The Importance of Elder Abuse Data Standardization
The Importance of Elder Abuse Data Standardization - Government of Alberta
This session focused on the importance of standardizing elder abuse data, and how it can enhance decision-making and service delivery. We shared the recommended standardized elder abuse and demographic data variables used by the Government of Alberta's Assisted Living and Social Services Elder Abuse Team, along with research supporting why these variables are important to collect. Participants will learn strategies to make the most of their data, explore practical examples, and discuss opportunities for improving consistency and quality in reporting. We will highlight how standardized data supports collaboration among service providers, government, and community organizations to strengthen the safety and well-being of older adults across Alberta.
