All across Canada, the opioid epidemic is getting worse. Health Canada asked St. John Ambulance to provide desperately needed opioid and nasal Naloxone training, as well as nasal Naloxone kits, to communities who are struggling to stop opioid poisonings (overdoses).
St. John Ambulance started in late 2020 by developing programming to help support homeless shelters and other supportive organizations in communities all over Canada. And now, we are launching Opioid Poisoning Response Training to other communities to make sure that anyone can learn about how to help fight the opioid epidemic. We have classes geared towards the general public, and also for shelters and community organizations, and the construction and trades industries.
