Human Rights Framework for Older Persons in Canada

On behalf of ILC Canada, we would like to share with you the Human Rights Framework for Older Persons in Canada. Developed by ILC Canada's Older Persons Human Rights Table, this framework provides a shared, rights-based foundation for advancing the dignity, equality, autonomy, and full participation of older persons across Canada. It outlines key rights and priorities, from income security, housing, healthcare, and protection from abuse to digital inclusion, climate resilience, and meaningful participation in decision-making. The framework also calls for stronger accountability, an anti-ageism lens across policy and legislation, and continued support for a UN Convention on the Rights of Older Persons.
