HEALTHY AGING ALBERTA - COMMUNITY-BASED SENIORS SERVING (CBSS) SECTOR INITIATIVE – COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
Healthy Aging Alberta (HAA) is focused on bringing together community-based seniors serving organizations across Alberta as a unified and coordinated sector. This coordinated sector will empower and inspire every senior to age how they choose, ultimately improving health and social outcomes for older adults. This initiative was established in response to concerns about the CBSS sector’s inability to integrate at a systems level with larger systems such as health, housing and the disabilities sector due to a lack of provincial coordination. Ultimately, the shared vision for the sector initiative is for a coordinated, community-based seniors serving sector in Alberta that is respected through the broader seniors’ support network.
PURPOSE
The Community Leadership Council was established to develop the strategic objectives of Healthy Aging Alberta based on community consultations held in 2019 and the What We Heard Report outcomes. The Community Leadership Council oversees the strategic objectives of Healthy Aging Alberta.
