Hadley Learning Resources for Individuals Adjusting to Vision Loss
The mission of Hadley is to create personalized learning opportunities that empower adults with vision loss or blindness to thrive at home, work, and in their communities. The organization is especially focused on adults losing vision in later life. The site is designed for people with vision loss (e.g., large font and easy navigation).Â
The site offers high quality instructional videos and audio files (called workshops) to help individuals who are loosing or have lost their sight adapt and maintain their independence. The workshops can also be ordered in a large print format. An extensive catalog of 2-10 minute workshops are available in the following categories:
- daily living;
- technology;
- working;
- recreation;
- adjusting to vision loss;
- braille; and
- emergency preparedness and safety.
View the full catalog of free workshops here.
CBSS organizations will find the site a useful resource for staff who are supporting clients with vision loss and to share with older adults and caregivers.
