Description / Summary

Taxes can be filed online using NETFILE and ReFILE services. This is an electronic tax-filing service that lets you do your personal taxes online and send your income tax and benefit return directly to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). For more information, see link: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/e-services/e-services-individuals/netfile-overview/certified-software-netfile-program.html

Many seniors will likely require assistance with this process. Seniors may also be concerned about the safety and security of using an online service for their personal finances. The information provided by the Government of Canada about the security measures used for this method should be shared with them. See website for more information.

Taxes can also be filed via telephone. For more information, see link: https://www.cpaalberta.ca/Services/Volunteer-Opportunities/Tax-Clinic-Program
