Campaign: Core Funding to Support Nonprofit Missions, Resilience and Impact
Nonprofits, like businesses and government, have basic core operating costs such as insurance, rent, and computers that they must cover in order to function. When nonprofits are reliant on project-based funding and cannot access core funding to cover these essential costs, it negatively impacts the quality of services they can offer their community, the employment conditions of nonprofit workers, and the long-term sustainability of their organizations.
Imagine Canada has launched a campaign to transmit a message to policymakers about the urgent need for core funding for nonprofit work. With the click of a button, you can send an individual letter to federal officials to support this cause.
Over the next few months, the government will write Budget 2023 and decide how federal dollars will be spent for the next year. In just a few minutes, you can ask your MP and federal Ministers to make core funding for nonprofits a top priority in the next budget. Tell the government they must start providing a minimum of core funding to the nonprofit sector to support our missions, resilience and impact.
