MARD Centre issues a second funding call for alternate transportation for seniors’ service providers in rural and remote Alberta

The spread of COVID-19 and temporary closures of alternate transportation for seniors’ (ATS) services due to safety concerns have had a negative impact on the health and well-being of seniors in the province. Although COVID-19 is still with us, the demand for ATS services continues. We anticipate that this demand will increase over the coming months with the arrival of the warmer spring weather, changes in restrictions, and increased vaccinations. In recognition of the increasing demand for ATS services, MARD is pleased to release a second funding call for ATS services in rural and remote areas of the province.

The RFP is designed to assist ATS service providers in Alberta communities with populations fewer than 10,000 in meeting the increased demand for medical and/or essential ATS service for seniors 65 years of age and older. Organizations interested in applying for funding can visit mard.ualberta.ca to download the application form or contact the MARD Centre for more information.
