Supporting Alberta’s Non-profits
The Social Impact Lab is a hub for social innovation. Non-profits can work with businesses, donors, community members and volunteers to develop new solutions and create capacity to address pressing social needs.
With $1.75 million to be distributed over the next four years, the United Way Calgary and Area will expand its Social Impact Lab model with permanent locations in Edmonton and Lethbridge and pop-up labs across Alberta. An online social innovation training and resource platform is also available.
These labs will teach innovation and design-thinking practices across Alberta using both western and Indigenous methodology. They will help more non-profits, including those in rural and remote areas, create new programs and services or redesign how they operate to better meet the needs of those they serve.
