Satellite vaccine clinics open in emergency departments and progress to date
Nine satellite clinics have already taken place, with more than 425 emergency department staff vaccinated. As more vaccine becomes available, additional clinics will be opened for eligible staff. Alberta Health Services and Covenant Health are piloting the use of temporary clinics to increase opportunities for eligible emergency department staff and physicians to get vaccinated. This is another tool to increase COVID-19 vaccinations across Alberta.
Progress to date
As of January 16:
- 85,935 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta. This is 1,943.4 doses per 100,000 population.
- 16 adverse events following immunization (AEFI) have been reported to Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services.
Updated figures will be shared regularly. Additional public reporting will be released in 2021.
