[Participate] Looking for Health, Housing, and Social Care Providers to Interview
The Aging in the Right Place Partnership research team is working on a project funded through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. The project title is Aging in the Right Place: Building Capacity for Promising Practices that Support Older People Experiencing Homelessness in Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver (Ethics # 30003185). The Principal Investigator is Dr. Atiya Mahmood. The Project Director is Dr. Sarah Canham.
This study aims to examine the ways in which stigma and discrimination towards older people with experiences of homelessness or housing insecurity serves as a barrier to aging in the right place.
As part of this research, we are conducting one-on-one interviews with health, housing, and social care providers who work with older people with experiences of homelessness or housing insecurity. We are inviting you to participate in a one-time 60 to 90-minute interview to help us understand perceptions of how stigma and discrimination towards people experiencing homelessness impact older adults’ ability to age in the right place and access housing, health, and social services.
Participants will receive $25 for a one-time virtual (Zoom) or phone interview. Attached are two posters about this research participation opportunity.
Please feel free to share the attached poster. If you or someone you know is interested in participating or if you would like more information, please contact me at joe_humphries@sfu.ca, 604-783-7118.
