Loneliness and Social Isolation: A Growing Concern for Older Canadians
Loneliness and social isolation are becoming increasingly prevalent among older Canadians, and experts are warning of the negative impacts on both mental and physical health. According to a recent report by the National Institute of Ageing (NIA), 41 percent of Canadians aged 50 and older are at risk of social isolation, while up to 58 percent have experienced loneliness.
