Cycling Without Age program hits the pavement
Age Friendly Cold Lake is rolling out a new pilot program that aims to get seniors and other locals with mobility issues out and about as passengers on a trishaw, a three-wheel bike.
Sandi Evans, who works for AFCL, decided to bring a trishaw to Cold Lake after watching a video from the Danish organization Cycling Without Age that featured specially-made tricycles, called trishaws, which have a bench-like seat on the front for up to two passengers. The bikes allow people to enjoy the experience of cycling, even if they can’t pedal anymore.
