Continuing to improve health-care delivery in Calgary

More than $4 million has been invested to expand hemodialysis services and upgrade air exchange systems at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary.

Through Alberta’s Infrastructure Maintenance Program, Alberta Health Services (AHS) received $1.35 million to expand hemodialysis capacity at the Peter Lougheed Centre. The Calgary Health Foundation also donated $1.37 million, bringing the total investment to $2.72 million for this project.

Hemodialysis provides essential life-extending treatment for those living with kidney disease. The addition of nine hemodialysis stations will expand capacity to treat more patients now and in the coming years. Two of the new stations are now operational.
