Celebrating Seniors’ Week
Seniors and Housing Minister Josephine Pon will officially declare the 36th edition of this Alberta tradition on June 6, during the provincial launch event in the Town of Taber.
Seniors’ Week, which continues through June 12, recognizes and celebrates all that older Albertans have contributed to making our families, communities and province stronger. In recognition of the importance of this event to seniors and older adults, Alberta’s government has proclaimed, in perpetuity, the first full week of June as Seniors’ Week in Alberta.
In Taber, seniors will enjoy a pancake breakfast, live music and a visit from Minister Pon, Taber-Warner MLA Grant Hunter and other dignitaries.
From pancake breakfasts and morning strawberry teas to evening barbecues and formal dinners, there are events to celebrate Seniors’ Week all over the province this week. Provincial museums are also offering free admission to all seniors during Seniors’ Week.
