Celebrating Black history: Premier Kenney
Premier Jason Kenney issued this statement recognizing Black History Month:
“Black History Month is a time to reflect on the deep culture and extensive contributions of our fellow Albertans of African, African American and Caribbean heritage.
“Alberta’s Black history is a rich tapestry of Alberta’s story, stories of leadership, entrepreneurship and centuries of love and friendship that span our province. It is a story of men and women of diverse and rich backgrounds who have all joined together to be a part of the province we cherish today.
“This month is also a time to reflect on the challenges and the progress that needs to be made – of confronting racism, challenging discrimination and strengthening Alberta’s equality of opportunity for all Albertans.
