Canadian Multiculturalism Day: Associate Minister Yaseen

news image

Associate Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism Muhammad Yaseen issued the following statement on Canadian Multiculturalism Day:

“Since 2003, Canadian Multiculturalism Day has been celebrated to focus on mutual respect and to recognize that everyone in Canada is free to practice their religion and maintain their cultural identities.

“Alberta and Canada have a long history of supporting multiculturalism. Our province relies on the diverse ethnic-cultural groups that choose to call Alberta home. We recognize that diversity is our strength and is a critical element of Alberta’s Recovery Plan.

“I am proud to continue my work as Associate Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism to ensure that Alberta remains an inclusive province. Between my work with the Alberta Anti-Racism Advisory Council and my outreach work to various cultural communities, I am making sure Alberta’s government is taking the necessary steps to be a province that supports and appreciates newcomers and various cultural groups.

“Happy Canadian Multiculturalism Day.”
