[Webinar] From Food Bank to Food Hub: Building Dignity, Skills, and Community
The Red Deer Food Bank has evolved beyond emergency food provision into a dynamic community food hub focused on dignity, skill-building, and long-term resilience. While continuing to provide essential food access through hampers and pantry services, the organization now offers a wide range of programs that address the root causes of food insecurity.
Through initiatives such as financial literacy and benefit navigation, culinary education, cultural food programming, and innovative food production systems—including greenhouses and indoor farming—the Red Deer Food Bank is working to empower individuals and strengthen community well-being. This presentation will share our journey, the challenges we’ve faced, and how an integrated, client-centered approach can create lasting impact beyond food.
