resource image

The Town of Fox Creek evacuated for 3 weeks in May of 2023 due to a Wildfire at the edge of town.

The Community Resource Center staff worked very closely with the town's aging population during and after the evacuation. While it was a successful evacuation, there were challenges such as lack of transportation, lack of efficient communication methods, and financial concerns.

Learn how they have better prepared themselves for a future evacuation by creating a vulnerable population registry, improved mental health supports and training, and created a more resilient and prepared community.
