COVID-19 and the Decade of Healthy Ageing

resource image

Through a series of themed Advocacy Briefs, the Decade of Healthy Ageing Connections Series will take a detailed look at the four action areas of the Decade and their connectedness to key global issues of our time.

1. changing how we think, feel and act towards age and ageing;
2. developing communities in ways that foster the abilities of older people;
3. delivering person-centred, integrated care and primary health services that are responsive to older people; and
4. providing older people access to long-term care when they need it.

This will contribute to building up visibility for the Decade beyond the health sector alone and generate momentum for action and investment.

The Decade of Healthy Ageing proposal was finalized in late 2019, before the arrival of COVID-19. The first Advocacy Brief in the Decade Connection Series looks at COVID-19.
