Vision.
To experience health in French in Alberta.
Mission
To bring together Francophones in Alberta to collaborate with healthcare stakeholders. Through strong partnerships, we strengthen equitable and safe access to healthcare in French throughout the province.
Our History
The Alberta Health Network (ARS) began its operations in 2004 with funding from Health Canada. A member of the Société Santé en français (SSF), the ARS is part of a national network of 16 organizations committed to improving access to healthcare services in French. For its governance, the ARS relies on the partnership pentagon developed by the World Health Organization (Towards Unity for Health), which promotes balanced representation from five key sectors: policymakers, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, communities, and healthcare managers.
