Volunteer Alberta - National Volunteer Week Enhancement Funding (Deadline: March 17, 2025)

National Volunteer Week provides a chance to highlight the value of volunteers and their positive impact on society.

Every April, Volunteer Canada leads the National Volunteer Week (NVW) campaign. This year’s theme is Volunteers Make Waves: Together, we create ripples of change. It highlights the power, impact, and importance of individual and collective volunteer efforts across Canada. Like a wave, volunteering is movement building. Each individual volunteer contribution, big or small, creates momentum and has the power to influence and inspire, joining a wave of positive change. Let’s celebrate the collective impact we make when we come together to contribute to and nurture the well-being of our communities.

Volunteer Alberta, in partnership with the Government of Alberta, aims to support communities throughout the province in celebrating the outstanding contributions of volunteers, past, present, and future.

How do I apply for the NVW Enhancement Grant?

All interested applicants must complete the following steps to apply:

• Read the 2025 Grant Guidelines (below) to confirm your organization’s eligibility
• Determine which grant tier your organization is eligible for. There are two grant tiers available:
• Host Site: $600
• Feature Site: $1,200
• Submit an application via the online application form; or
• Send a scanned version of the 2025 application form to registrations@volunteeralberta.ab.ca; or
• Contact VA for a paper copy of the application form to be mailed to you and mailed back to VA before the March 17th deadline
• If you are collaborating with one or more organizations, all collaborating organizations must complete and submit one copy of the Memorandum of Agreement
• Attach a Direct Deposit Form (upload on the online application form or email to registrations@volunteeralberta.ab.ca)
• Acknowledge the Government of Alberta and Volunteer Alberta on all promotional materials; please use provided logos
