funding opportunity image

We provide resources to Canadian charities so they can hire skilled government relations professionals to engage with Ottawa and other levels of government on important climate and environmental issues.

Who is eligible?

Only registered Canadian Charities are eligible to apply.

What geography is included?

This fund applies to engaging the federal government, provincial governments and territorial governments but NOT municipal governments.

What subject areas are covered?

This funding is for external experts to engage in a policy or financial issue in one of two subject areas:

1. innovative responses, insights and measures that mitigate climate change and achieve GHG emission reductions in sectors such as energy, transportation, industry, buildings, and others; and

2. natural climate solutions that take an integrated approach to benefit biodiversity, sustain livelihoods, and mitigate climate change.

When is the deadline?

There are no deadlines and we accept applications on a rolling basis. A decision will be made within 4-6 weeks upon receiving an application.

What is the maximum grant amount?

Grants are available for up to $30,000. The only eligible expenses are those for the external GR help.

How can we apply?

The two-part online application process involves a short letter of intent, at first. If accepted, you'll submit a full proposal which is then reviewed by a group of advisors for decision.
