Grant Application Process

The Centre provides a supportive approach. The process is not competitive, but rather collaborative. You do not need to have expertise in grant writing, as we will work with you every step of the way.

The Centre’s collaborative process implies that we work with your organization to help you develop an eligible project. This approach also allows us to process and evaluate final applications quickly.

We invite you to contact us now for support in your grant applications.

Criteria and Guidelines for Allocating Funds

Transformative projects for community housing

All Centre-funded projects must demonstrate a transformative aspect or impact that will improve the applicant’s (or the sector’s) organizational capacity and their sustainability and ability to grow. A transformative aspect is defined as sustainable, tangible, substantive, and long-term change. Proposed projects must include new approaches, new tools or new ways of doing things for the organization or sector.

The guidelines for the funds are based on the Centre’s priority areas of focus:

  • Fostering the growth of the community housing sector
  • Encouraging innovative and sustainable business practices
  • Enhancing social inclusion and community engagement
  • Reducing the sector’s environmental footprint
  • Addressing service gaps for Indigenous communities

Your application will be examined by one of the Centre’s program managers and may also be subject to a review process involving external experts and an allocation committee. All external reviewers draw on their knowledge of the sector’s target community to make informed decisions about proposed projects and to help identify priority projects.
