[Canada-Wide] The Technology for Aging Gracefully Research Scholarship (deadline: Dec 15, 2025)

The Technology for Aging Gracefully Research Scholarship was established in 2025 by a generous gift from Dr. Cosmin Munteanu, Schlegel Research Chair in Technology for Healthy Aging at the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging.


Purpose

The scholarship provides funding to students who identify as being from racialized and/or Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and/or Metis) communities to pursue research in technology that enhances quality of life and/or care of older adults. 


The intended research should emphasize a participatory approach, with meaningful collaboration and engagement of the community being served in each phase of the research process.


Value

There are two awards of $2,000 available.


Eligibility Criteria

Eligible students are:

  • Studying at a university in Canada
  • Current Master’s or PhD students, or students accepted to graduate school for the upcoming year
  • Self-identify as members of racialized and/or Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and/or Metis) communities*
  • This is the first year of the Technology for Aging Gracefully Research Scholarship. In future years, previous recipients of the scholarship will be ineligible to receive it again.
