Resilient Futures is a landmark $60M Prosper Canada initiative, funded by the Government of Canada, through the Social Development Partnerships Program – Children and Families; to enhance financial stability for Canadians facing economic hardship. Through this initiative, we are funding community-based financial empowerment programs to ensure that free, essential services reach those most in need.

Key focus areas

• Providing tax filing, access to benefits, financial education
• Delivering one-on-one financial help (i.e., financial counselling or coaching)
• Expanding outreach to priority communities, including Black communities, First Nations, Métis and Inuit, and those living with disabilities
• Strengthening local networks and referral systems to improve financial outcomes

Who can apply

• Registered charities and qualified donees:
• We accept applications from charity organizations that have a current and valid charitable number from the Canada Revenue Agency, or are First Nations Bands designated as qualified donees.
• To check that your charitable number is in good standing, visit Canada Revenue Agency or call 1-800-267-2384.
• Non-profit organizations:
• For the Hub (Stream 1) and Partner (Stream 2) funds, non-profit organizations can also apply under certain conditions.
• If you are a non-profit without a charitable number, you may partner with a registered charity to apply for funding. The registered charity will act as the non-profit’s fiscal sponsor for the project if awarded funding, and the non-profit will be designated as the delivery organization.
• For the Growth Partner (Stream 3) fund, registered charities and non-profits can apply directly.
