[Canada-wide] Community giving (deadline: Sept 1)
How we focus on contributing to economic prosperity
At CWB Financial Group, we want to ensure we're making the greatest possible impacts towards driving economic prosperity for Canadians and the communities where we operate. Our community investment program contributes to economic success through corporate donations and sponsorships by focusing on two areas of giving: Enabling Business and Promoting Inclusivity.
Enabling Business
To contribute to the long-term success of our economy, CWB has adopted a proactive approach to making positive impacts for business owners and the business community in Canada. We do this by investing in community organizations that enable business by offering:
- Education
- Thought leadership
- Entrepreneurial inspiration
- Skill development
- Experiential learning
Promoting Inclusivity
CWB is striving to unlock the power of inclusivity so we as Canadians can all contribute to the success and growth of our country. We strive to create equitable opportunities for all people by investing in community organizations focused on removing barriers for those pursuing:
- Financial empowerment
- Skill development
- Learning and mentorship
- Business opportunities
Funding guidelines
We understand that securing funding for a charitable organization, program or event can be time consuming, especially if you can't find the information you need. Below is a comprehensive set of guidelines that will help you determine if your initiative is eligible for donations or sponsorships from CWB. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with our funding guidelines and giving focus.
To be considered, all requests for support must be received through CWB's online application. This format allows us to ensure a fair review and timely response for all applicants. We are unable to consider hard copy or email requests for support at this time.
Please note, we receive far more requests for funding than we are able to fulfill and will prioritize organizations or initiatives that best align with our funding guidelines and giving direction.
- You will have unlimited access to complete your unfinished application until the cycle closes. CWB typically closes our application September 1 of each calendar year, so please try to have your application submitted a few weeks before that deadline.
- Applicants will receive a confirmation email after completing the application. The review process takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks for requests under $50,000. Please note - this process may take longer due to the acquisition of Canadian Western Bank by National Bank.
- Requests over $50,000 will be accepted in one of two cycles:
- First cycle - January to March
- Second cycle - May to July
