The Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC) is proud to launch the Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.) 2.0, 2024. This funding opportunity offers $9.5 million in investment to support Black-mandated, Black-led, and Black-serving (B3) charitable and non-profit organizations across Canada. Our goal is to provide one-year flexible funding to initiatives designed to address the most pressing needs of Black communities and improve socio-economic outcomes.
What is B.I.G. 2.0?
The Black Ideas Grant 2.0 is an initiative aimed at empowering B3 organizations to develop and lead projects where they address one of the three focus areas:
- Combatting Anti-Black Racism
- Improving Social Outcomes
- Improving Economic Outcomes
We recognize the importance of programs that deliver real and measurable change within Black communities. Whether you are addressing systemic barriers or enhancing community well-being, B.I.G. 2.0 provides the financial resources you need to make a lasting impact.

To be eligible for funding, your initiative must:
- Be led by a Black-mandated, Black-led, and Black-serving (B3) organization.
- Address at least one of the focus areas and align with the Sustainable Development Goals and Social Determinants of Health.
- Be based in Canada and completed by March 31, 2026.
Note: Unincorporated organizations or groups may apply in partnership with an incorporated organization.

We invite eligible B3 organizations at various stages of development to apply for one of three funding streams:
