The GrandPals Project

program image

The Grandpals project began in 2010. The project was an intergenerational program between a public school and a retirement village. The Grandpals program is where the student met with the residents and participated in various activities. Over the years Grandpals has expanded into a more storytelling format. The students learn from the stories of their Grandpals. These stories were written down and published into books. The books are then donated to the local museum to archive. Grandpals is a great example of the impact that intergenerational programs can have on both the students and the seniors.
