Pedal4Joy

The Pedal4Joy program is a free community e-bike program which offers the opportunity for adults to participate in bike rides with three others, on a four seat adaptive e-bike. Volunteers pilot group e-bike rides for adults of all ages and abilities so they can get outdoors and have fun.

Pedal4Joy facilitates, encourages and empowers a wide age range of adults to get outdoors, be physically and socially active and to bring adventure and fun back into their lives.

The program is made available through partnerships with Origin at Spring Creek Village, Bow Valley Regional Housing, the Bow Valley Palliative Care Society, and the Bow Valley Connections Centre. We are excited about expanding our reach through additional partnerships in 2023.

The key benefits of the program are improved physical and mental health of individuals in Banff and Canmore that are compromised by age, illness, or physical limitations. E-bikes have recently been recognized to have positive health benefits. Use of a pedal assist e-bike not only provides more residents with an opportunity to bicycle outdoors at one time, but also promotes social connectivity and physical activity.

Bookings are closed for the season: Pedal 4 Joy will be back in May 2023!
