Essential Transportation: Seniors' Transportation for Vaccination

This program was originally the Escorted Transportaiton Program, which has not shifted to provided volunteer drivers to support vulnerable seniors in the Calgary area get to essential medical appointments only. COVID-19 vaccine rollout has increased demand for the program so there is a need for additional volunteer drivers. Volunteers can sign up on the Calgary Seniors Resource Society website, and organizations can also redeploy their volunteer by contacting info@calgaryseniors.org. The Calgary Seniors Resource Society is also open to connect with organizations who would like to learn about how to run a temporary or permanent volunteer driver program through their own organizations or in their own communities. Volunteers go through a rigorous screening process to ensure the safety of all involved. Please see the volunteer recruitment poster.
