The Alberta Elder Abuse Awareness Council is excited to offer the Taking Action Against Elder Abuse training to educators, trainers and instructors in organizations, sectors and communities. Originally developed by the Government of Alberta, the training will share the foundational knowledge and skills required to recognize and effectively respond to incidents of elder abuse within your community. Consider taking this important training and become an integral part of Taking Action Against Elder Abuse in Alberta. Both the one-day workshop as well as a Train-the-Trainer will be offered on CORE Alberta!
The Taking Action curriculum provides a common understanding of elder abuse and promotes a cross-sectoral approach to developing a shared understanding and learning amongst multiple, blended stakeholder groups. The target audience for Taking Action includes all front-line staff who in the scope of their work, interact with older adults and victims of elder abuse and family violence.
The current dates that we have scheduled are October 19 & 20 or November 2 & 3, as the training will be offered through Zoom we will be breaking it up into 2 mornings (from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. each morning).
