The CORE Elder Abuse Group hosted a session dedicated to answering the question "What is Elder Mediation and its Role in Preventing Elder Abuse?" on March 26, 2021 with presenter Dr. Anita Dorczak. Dr. Dorczak is an Alberta-based lawyer and mediator with over 30 years of experience in conflict resolution and has been a Certified Elder Mediator since 2013. She was involved in the Elder Decision-Making and Conflict Resolution Section of the Association for Conflict Resolution since the section inception and for the last few years, she has been serving on the Elder Mediation Committee for Family Mediation Canada. She has given presentations worldwide on the topic of innovative approaches to conflict resolution including Elder Mediation and is passionate of about the rights of older persons.
