Description / Summary
The Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) has created a new toolkit to help seniors, caregivers and service providers build an emergency kit, develop an emergency plan and be prepared for emergencies, disasters and unexpected situations. This 11-page toolkit is an excellent resource to begin having conversations around emergency preparedness. This toolkit was specifically developed with seniors in mind, but is relevant to all Albertans.
Emergencies and disasters can happen at any time, often without warning. These situations can have lasting impacts to you and your loved ones long after the emergency has passed. By taking a few simple steps to become more prepared, you can better navigate disruptions when they do occur. If you rely on others for assistance, being prepared can help keep you safe, warm and comfortable while you wait for help. In any case, having a plan will help reduce the impact and shorten your recovery time, helping you and your loved ones get back to your lives sooner.
