Description / Summary
This article describes a Virtual Literacy Week held in January 2021. One of BC's community response networks and the Community Adult Literacy Program in Chetwynd, BC organized and delivered the series. Sessions included topics such as financial literacy, media literacy, cultural literacy, and cover letter and resume writing. The organizers worked with local community experts to deliver their programming on Facebook. Recordings of the sessions are openly available on the Chetwynd Community Adult Literacy Program Facebook page or direct links to each session are available at the bottom of this page, which describes the project.
Service providers may find the video recordings useful in their work with older adults. This article also highlights collaborative and creative efforts taking place in rural and remote communities.
