The CORE Elder Abuse Group hosted an event on September 2, 2021 to offer a training that walks participants through the Disclosure to Protect Against Violence Act (Clare’s Law) which provides a framework for disclosure of a person's history of violence to their intimate partners as well as opportunity to connect with social support services across Alberta.

Participants were able to learn the who, what, where, when and why of Clare’s Law, specifically:

  • Managing Clare’s Law referrals.
  • Acting as a third-party applicant.
  • Supporting individuals navigating the application and disclosure process.
